“One of our favourite getaways”

“There are some days when you just have to get out of the city and enjoy a nice meal in green surroundings, and the Belfountain Inn is the place we escape to more than any other. It sits in a beautiful setting in a small village right next to a branch of the Credit River. (If you’re lucky, you can get one of the tables overlooking the fast-flowing current.) The service is excellent and the food is always fabulous–we are particularly fond of the cheeseburgers (maybe the best in the entire GTA!!!). The inn also has some tasty local beers on tap. All in all, a truly great escape.”

Super friendly and attentive staff!”

“I told them of my dietary restrictions and allergies and they gave me more greens and seafood for me without costing me more.

Food was fresh and can be catered to your liking. Perfect place to eat after chillaxing or hiking at the nearby quaint town and Bellefountaine Conservation Area.

Small inn. Bold flavours. Great attention to detail, quality of food and immaculate service! I seriously love the curry, which soaked right through the tender fish making it milky and full-bodied without it being too overpowering at the same time.

French inspired food usually would cost more, but this place had decent portions, not too light or heavy, and it has delicate tastes for half the usual cost! Definitely must try if you are in this cute town anyway!

Perfect end to my day trip to Bellefountaine and Caledon.”

“Impromptu visit – Amazing location!”

“Happened across the Belfountain Inn purely by accident. Hiked the Bruce Trail in the Caledon Hills section, and wanted a place to go to celebrate our hiking success. Initially stopped at a local cidery, but were told they were not open to the public due to a private function. So, some friendly locals suggested we head to the Belfountain Inn.

Glad we did!

When we arrived, there were only 2 other people dining at the ‘inn’. Menu had a nice selection of items, and they feature local beers and ciders too.

I had the Pommies cider (local), and my partner had a local beer (can’t remember the name). Both were good and inexpensive. We ordered the fried olives (unique AND tasty) and mussels in chili wine sauce. The mussels came with a plate of delicious fries, served with their home-made mayo.

Our bill came to around $35 for 2, not including tip. Well worth it. There was enough food for the two of us to enjoy. I must add that the mussels were delicious, and there was plenty for 2 people to share.

This location would be amazing in the fall months as it is situated right on the Credit River, and the view from the patio would be breathtaking. Lots of trees surrounding the property too. Only issue is parking – there are limited parking spaces. We did not have a problem, but I can see it being an issue in the busier summer and fall season.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in and around the Caledon area.”
